I’m a military spouse, a mom of 5 kids, and a published author. I write and speak to encourage and uplift the community of military spouses and loved ones. You may know me as the “Seasoned Spouse” from my blog and social media sites, or as the author of these works.

My writing is all directed at helping military families. I have multiple print articles published in Military Spouse magazine, Military Families Magazine, National Guard and Reserve Magazine, and G.I. Jobs. I have published hundreds of digital articles on websites such as Military One Source, MilspouseFest, Task & Purpose, Military.com, PCSgrades, Military By Owner, and Military Wife and Mom.
If you are interested in an article for your website or magazine, I can write about military life, deployments, living overseas, PCSing, and almost anything for children ages 13 and under (since I have five children ages zero to thirteen). To hire me as a freelance writer, please contact me at LizannLightfoot@gmail.com for pricing and details.
I’m available to be a public speaker or a guest on a Podcast. I have been interviewed on several military-themed podcasts, have spoken publicly at military spouse and deployment events, and I have done Live recordings and video presentations on the following topics:
I’m happy to be a guest speaker for your military spouse meeting, FRG event, pre-deployment training, or base spouses’ club. I speak encouragement through strength about military life challenges, including deployments, PCS moves, raising children, and military spouse employment. Contact me at LizannLightfoot@gmail.com
I’ve been with my Marine for two decades now, and we’ve been married for 14 years. Together, we have gone through 7 deployments, lived at 6 different duty stations, had 5 children, and spent 3 years living overseas in Spain.
I’m someone who has been there, done that, made the mistakes, and wrote the book–literally! I write honestly about the challenges we have faced, but I am also able to smile at the ridiculous things we have been through. And I’m happy to share some of my seasoned stories with you. I am passionate about supporting other military loved ones through the challenges of this crazy life.
